Job Summary: The Chief Executive Officer will provide professional leadership in managing the company strategically and maximising returns while ensuring compliance with national and international -insurance and management standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Offer technical support to the Board of Directors
Make positive contributions to the deliberations and decisions of the Board of Directors
In charge of strategy formulation and implementation
Responsible for risk policy formulation and implementation
Prepare annual budgets that reflect the Strategic Plan objectives
Provide strategic leadership to the organization
Conduct special and other assignments on behalf of the Board of Directors
Maintain the highest standards of personal conduct, professional performance and business ethics.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should hold a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
Certificate in insurance.
A minimum of ten (10) years of post-graduation working experience
Ten years of experience in the financial services sector
Four years of board membership experience is an added advantage
Proven track record at senior management level for at least five (5) years, two (2) years of which should have been in a reputable insurance company
Broad working knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry, corporate governance issues, strategic planning and management and financial services sector in Uganda
Strong leadership and managerial skills
Strategic and conceptual thinking abilities
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Keen attention to detail
High level of integrity, honesty and professional competence
Excellent skills in negotiation, risk management and conflict resolution
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent ability to build effective teams
Ability to work within tight schedules and to multitask/ fast-track appropriately
Good computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in Ms -Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point
Should exhibit strong values
