Job Summary: The Clinical Officer will be responsible for implementation of the health program. This includes participation in technical assessments, collection of health data, implementation, monitoring, documentation and reporting of the project as well as supervision and support of community health workers, contribution to overall health program, its appropriateness and quality. In an integrated response, the Health Officer will link closely with other respective sectors to ensure maximum possible integration of the project activities. The role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Save the Children Clinical Officer job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing, clinical medicine or in related disciplines OR equivalent experience in the health sector
Previous experience of working in role with MoH or NGO desirable
Broad knowledge and understanding of broad health issues within affected community
Good understanding of local humanitarian context.
Fluency in English (both spoken and written).
Commitment to working through systems of community participation.
Strong understanding of community, culture and customs.
Good understanding of local humanitarian context.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
