Corporate Planning Officer – Kampala – Electricity Regulatory Authority

About Us:
The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) is a statutory body established in accordance with the Electricity Act, 1999 (Chapter 145, Laws of Uganda). The Act empowers ERA to regulate the Generation, Transmission, Sale, Export, Import-and Distribution of electrical energy in Uganda.

Job Summary: The Corporate Planning Officer will review and report on Electricity Regulatory Authority’s performance and effectively implement the corporate monitoring systems and initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop the Institutional planning, monitoring and evaluation Framework
The incumbent will coordinate the development and compilation of the departmental work plans and align them with the Business plan
Follow up, track and report on the implementation of departmental work plans on a monthly basis
Prepare quarterly institutional monitoring and evaluation reports
Evaluate and report on the institutional compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures
Prepare high quality annual reports
Coordinate the preparation and dissemination of key information and institutional reports to stakeholders
Coordinate the preparation of the annual and three year business plans
Attend various meetings on behalf of the unit initiated by the ESI stakeholders and prepare briefs
Assist the Manager, Corporate Planning in the coordination of Regional activities
Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal applicant for the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) Corporate Planning Officer job placement must hold an Honors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or Statistics
Possession of a Post Graduate qualification in Monitoring & Evaluation
At least three years relevant work experience
Ability to take initiative
Ability to work independently
Ability to set priorities and perform under pressure with accuracy and dedication
Ability to establish positive working relationships at various levels, internally and externally
Excellent analytical, drafting and problem solving skills
Should be result oriented
Should be a team player with good inter personal skills
High degree of professionalism
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency in relevant computer packages.
Age: Between 25 – 35 years
