It is a multimedia business housing newspaper, magazines, internet publishing, television, radio broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising and distribution services. NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with an expected turnover of over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).

Job Summary: The Deputy News Editor Etop Radio will help in managing and producing radio news to the satisfaction of the target audience within the group editorial policy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the day to day radio newsroom operations including; news gathering, editing and on-air delivery.
Ensure that news content and delivery conform to organizational, legal and statutory policies and guidelines.
The incumbent will oversee the administration work for the news room through the effective coordination with various support functions in order to ensure that the team is catered for to meet their basic requirements e.g. transport, equipment.
Circulate news (national stories) to all Vision Group Radios, Newspapers 6t Websites in order to implement integration in news reporting to reduce costs in operation and improve the quality of news at a low cost.
Manage performance and communication to the news team in order to enhance? team building, understanding of company policies and staff development.
Technically support programming by providing useful information to the morning and evening producers. Plan and provide information for the talk shows and presenters in order to achieve quality programming.
Supply stories to the website team for uploading to the website in order to give them updated news frequently.
Send periodic reports on newsroom operations to management to support decision making.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University preferably in Mass Communication.
A minimum of four years working experience as a journalist.
Proficiency in written and spoken Ateso.
Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Audio.
Excellent leadership & management skills.
Excellent conflict resolution skills.
Possess the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Ability to work across multi-media platforms.
Good network with news sources.
Quick and innovative, with an eye for news.
Highly aggressive, outgoing and social person.
