Proposal Objective:
Social Impact is preparing a proposal response for the anticipated multi-million dollar, five-year Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Contract in Uganda. The purpose of the Contract is to strengthen the performance of USAID/Uganda and its Implementing Partners (IPs) in collaborating, learning and adapting in order to improve the relevance, quality and sustainability of USAID-supported contributions to Uganda’s development.
Position Description:
SI is seeking a Director of Performance Improvement (DPI) to serve as the individual bearing primary responsibility for delivering the adapting results related to new ways of doing business and the performing sub-results related to improving the capacity of USAID/Uganda staff. This position will be based in Uganda. The DPI will serve as a core team member on a full-time basis throughout the five-year period of performance.

Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership and vision to the “adapting” and “performing” agendas.
· Lead contractor efforts to help USAID/Uganda strengthen its internal business practices.
· Lead contractor efforts to train, coach and establish mentorship arrangements for USAID/Uganda staff.
· Ensure complementarity between training, coaching and mentorship.
· Strengthen USAID/Uganda’s efforts to integrate innovation throughout its portfolio.
Qualifications:
· Preferably a Master’s degree in international development, strategic planning, project design and implementation, or a related field.
· Five years of direct experience of training and improving business processes in development organizations.
· Five years of experience managing staff in providing services relevant to training and organizational development.
· Preferably, three years’ experience living and working in developing country environments, preferably East Africa.
· Quality past performance references relevant to the position.
