The Electoral Commission, which is established under Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and mandated to conduct public elections and referenda professionally, impartially and efficiently. It was set up under Article 60 to 67 of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.
Job Summary: The Election Officer/Camera (Still/Video) will provide video and still picture coverage for all Electoral Commission activities; events and ceremonies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the activities of the Electoral Commission Studio Room.
Select and recommend the most appropriate pictures for print or visual publication.
The incumbent will process and produce finished video and, audio recordings for official use.
Archive and store photo/video records for future reference purposes.
Offer technical support on procurement specifications for studio equipment.
Ensure proper maintenance of video/still camera and other studio equipment.
Perform any other duties as officially assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicants for the Election Officer/Camera (Still/Video) vacancy should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in either Mass Communication or Journalism or a closely related field with a bias in broadcasting, from a recognized university.
A minimum of two years’ professional experience in similar work in Government or a large and reputable organization.
Computer literacy skills i.e. Basic graphic design applications.
The incumbent should be competent in camera handling and usage
Possess the ability to troubleshoot and rectify minor camera defects and malfunctions.
Ability to meet tight deadlines under minimum or no supervision.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and capable of working well as a team member.
The incumbent should be meticulous and have a thorough approach to work.
Age: 23 years and above.
