Field Coordinators – Kasese and Masindi – Belgian Development Agency

About US:
Belgian Development Agency, BTC Uganda and Ministry of Education, Science Technology and Sports will implement together a support program to the implementation of the Skilling Uganda Strategy. The main aim is to raise standards and expand coverage of training, create employable skills and competencies relevant to the labour market instead of educational certificates.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. BTVET Advisor 30%
· Organize and support the assigned partner colleges and (business membership organizations – BMO’s)
· Provide the specialist knowledge and experience of demand-driven BTVET provision to the institutions
· Render support in the design, preparation and refinement of teaching support materials for teaching staff;
· Support BMO’s & BTVET institutions in roll out of training programs financed through the pSDF
· Support and monitor all work-based learning (WBL) interventions supported by the project
2. Coaching: 30%
· Coordinate and supervise the implementation of project activities in line with business and strategic development plans
· Support the college in reviewing progress, in providing guidance, in liaising with the private sector in areas such as WBL and student career guidance;
· Actively promote the Pilot Skills Development Fund (pSDF) in the district;
3. Monitoring, knowledge sharing and reporting: 30%
· Support monitoring (including tracer studies) and supervision of the selected BTVET partners;
· Actively monitor the implementation of the training and other investments financed by the pSDF in his/tier regions
· Guide the Project management team on successes and challenges and contribute to a BTVET knowledge sharing platform for BTVET stakeholders;
· Significantly contribute to progress and activity reports;
4. Other (10%).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate for the Field Coordinator job placement should hold a Diploma level, preferably in a technical field (either in the following civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or hotel and tourism sectors);
· A minimum of five years of successful BTVET experience;
· Three years’ experience in a private company;
· Proven expertise in the practical side BTVET delivery, using partnerships with private sector;
· Mature with excellent communicator and facilitation skills;
· Good reporting skills
· Fluent in English
