Finance Manager – Kampala Hospital – Kampala

Job Summary:
The Finance Manager will provide oversight of all administration activities and be responsible for the budget planning, monitoring, reporting and supports the executive management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best financial business decisions for the company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of the business plan and strategy, including leading the development of departmental budgets and work plans on an annual and quarterly basis.
Preparation and presentation of periodic Financial Statements in due time, ensuring accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Debtors management and Cash flow planning
Tax management, planning and ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory returns
Maintain and effectively manage the Fixed assets register & Inventory
Keenly monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions
Ensure integrity of the general ledger is sound and that all reconciliations are prepared and reviewed in a timely
Provide technical management accounting input into the development of departmental targets and the regular evaluation of results – performance evaluation against targets.
Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
Lead and provide guidance to the other departments, but with support by the other team leaders/heads of department in the collating of departmental performance numbers, forecasts and budgets.
Provide leadership and oversight to the Finance and administration teams including skills development
Develop overall goals for the finance and administration departments.
Identify and resolve financial and administrative issues.

TAT for submission of finalized financial reports to management and regulatory authorities
Finance Report Error Rate
The collections effectiveness index
Timely invoice processing and payments
Cost management
Track financial performance and minimize potential financial risk
Develop and maintain standard financial procedures

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Finance/Accounting is required
Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA/CAA is required
Eight years of relevant working experience as a Finance Manager, preferably with a busy organisation and at least three years of experience in a management role.
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
