Job Summary: The General Manager will provide support to the Managing Director in overseeing the general management of the company with primary focus on creation of strategies and implementation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement an organisational delivery strategy by providing support in business development, assisting in identifying potential clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profiles. Conduct technical presentation of information about clients including preparation of reports and risk notes for underwriters and negotiating for successful acquisition and placement of business;
· Lead staff through the service delivery strategy by developing standard processes and approach to service;
· Oversee the implementation of “ARiSe culture” of vigorous drive, innovative and dedicated service to our clients through living the ARiSe spirit;
· Formulate and implement performance and service standards to support the strategy of ARiS.
· Mentor and train staff and clients to support the strategy of ARiS.
· Oversee proper management of systems including the processing of paperwork, correspondence, detailed records and ensuring continuous review and development of business procedures to improve efficiency
· Develop new products and continuously improve systems and procedures with the aim of retaining ARiS’ position the leading risk service provider.
· Perform any other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The General Manager must hold a Master’s degree majoring in any of the following fields: Economics, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, Statistics, Law, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration or Management from a reputable university;
· ACM or its equivalent;
· A minimum of ten or more years’ experience in insurance, five of which must be at assistant general manager or higher;
· Detailed knowledge and understanding of IRA regulations;
· Capacity to interact and maintain strategic stakeholder relationships;
· A dynamic and self-motivated individual.
· Ugandan citizenship of good conduct aged between 35 and 50
