About BOU:
The Bank of Uganda (BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on the 15th August 1966. It is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda but it is not a government Department. Bank of Uganda conducts all its activities in close association with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is responsible for monetary policy and maintaining price stability.
Job Summary: The Head Contracts Preparation and Administration Desk (Procurement and Disposal Contracts) will process legal documentation for procurement and disposal in the Bank.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare contracts for supplies and goods as approved under the Procurement Law.
Work closely with stakeholders to facilitate signature and conclusion of contracts.
Work in liaison with the Office of Solicitor General to obtain approvals for contracts.
Provide support to the contracts committee and provide legal support whenever required.
When required, participate in evaluation and negotiation committees.
Update the Department on developments under the Procurement Law.
Actively participate in sensitization efforts under the Bank’s procurement process.
Co-ordinate with procurement and disposal unit on ongoing procurements.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Draft Contracts for review
Fully signed contracts forwarded to all parties
Research reports
Legal opinions on procurement and related matters
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Bank of Uganda job vacancy should a First Class or Upper Second Class Degree in Law from a recognized University.
Possession of a Post graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the law Development Centre.

Hold a Valid Practicing Certificate
Possession of a postgraduate degree in law will be an added advantage.
Postgraduate qualifications in banking and finance regulation will be an added advantage
A minimum of two years working experience as a practicing advocate in a Banking environment, a Commercial Law firm or Legal Department of a Government entity or corporate entity.
Broad working knowledge in contract drafting and negotiations
Fair knowledge in Financial Sector regulation
Computer literacy skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Good team player
Excellent communication and writing skills
Strong personal initiative
Proven ability to work under minimal supervision
Age: 25-30 years
