About NHCC:
National Housing and Construction Company Limited (NHCC) was founded in 1964 and is a Ugandan construction and real estate management company, partly owned by the Uganda Government. The Company’s mandate is to increase the housing stock in the country, rehabilitate the housing industry and encourage Ugandans to own homes in an organized environment.

Job Summary: The Head- Investment will coordinate and oversee the Company’s financial investment management systems and processes, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The jobholder will prepare proposals for optimal investment opportunities and monitor returns on approved investments.
Offer timely technical expert advice to Management on the investment rationality, viability, sustainability.
Manage the Company’s working capital in accordance with the Financial Procedures manual.
Foster productive relations with Company banks and participate in negotiations for raising funds.
The incumbent will investigate linkages with the Capital Markets in order to raise the requisite finances to support the planned massive housing development.
Provide the Company’s Management, whenever necessary, with relevant specialist, expert and technical advice (on the basis of appropriate and comprehensive analysis and evaluation), with regard to the Company’s investment opportunities and projects – especially those involving Partnerships, External Contractors and other Service Providers – as well provide the necessary supervision, quality assurance, facilitation and coordination of the implementation of the corresponding projects – with a view to ensuring their profitable success.
Coordinate and manage loan demand determination processes and activities, as well as monitor and manage the loan acquisition, utilization and repayment control processes in a manner that ensures value for money and sustainability, in accordance with the financial procedures, processes and best practices.
Coordinate Budget preparation activities across the Company, as well as monitor and manage the budgeting control processes, in accordance with the financial procedures, processes and best practices
Ensure compliance with the relevant regulations in all financial planning aspects.
Ensure efficient project financing from time to time in accordance with the project budget and best practices and advice management on stakeholder consideration.
Review, in conjunction with other Managers in the Finance & Accounts Section, the profitability of the Company business activities, ventures, projects and advise the Head of Department.
Develop staff under his/her supervision through inter alia, training, coaching, delegation, appraisal and feedback.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or any other business related field.
Possession of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance, or Accounting), Business Finance, Banking and Investments or a closely related and relevant discipline from a recognized University.
Full professional accounting qualification and full membership of an internationally recognized accountancy institution, such as ACCA, CPA (U or K), and CFA or at least level one of CFA, is a must.
At least five years of related experience; two of which must have been at the level of Finance Manager, or in a similar Management position, in a large and reputable organization, preferably a vibrant commercial organization, or a civil works company, or an investment company.
Proficiency in application of Finance & Accounting-related Software and MS Office Package (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and related packages, is essential.
Additional qualifications in Project Planning and Management, or Business Management, from a recognized institution, are added advantage.
Proven experience in successful implementation of investment projects is essential.
Previous experience in working with regional and international development agencies, as well as with other regional and international public, or private sector organizations in housing-related projects, or programs, shall be an added advantage.
