Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Organize training plans for the Area Health Coordinators (AHC), Project Assistants (PAHs) and CHPs (Community health Promoters) as per targets.
· Carry out field level staff and Community Health Promoters trainings.
· Provide in-service supportive supervision at the field level for CHPs and PAHs.
· Technically support and implement plans for CHP and health staff service delivery, quality assurance and monitoring CHP and staff assessments, certification and re-certification plans, criteria and implementation.
· Oversee and monitor activities of health team within the community on the health activities, including health education and awareness, to ensure quality and the maximum use of their skills and their full and effective participation at the community level, and perform any other duties from time to time.
· Prepare and submit plans as well as reports of all activities and field activities – in-service training, supervision on time.
· Strongly practice and maintain (uphold/conduct) organizational values and objectivity in all activities and ensure other team members are adhering to it through their activities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The Health Trainers must hold BSc. in Public Health Nursing and or Midwifery/ Clinical Officer
· A minimum of three years’ work experience in directly training, managing, teaching and or supervising a large number of community health workers.
· Skills in developing training/ teaching tools) with strong background and thorough understanding of maternal child health, nutrition and healthy behaviors.
· Proven ability in developing skills (capacities) of others, working with the community health workers, especially assessing and training them according to their (CHWs, field staff) need and feedback (both from field and supervisor)
· Strong skills and ability to facilitate dialogue and engage community, field staff and CHWs as well as counseling (individual and group).
· Possess sufficient knowledge and skills pertaining to work in the field, especially conducting interactive training- using adult learning method.
· Ability to motivate others and inspire trust among team members and CHPs.
· Good report writing and analytical skills are a must.
· Possess a passion for teaching and demonstrates respects and values for community based CHWs.
· Computer literacy skills (MS office proficiency)
