Job Summary:
Over the past 12 years the Foundation has widened the scope of its operations and is now looking for a dynamic and qualified Ugandan to join the CCFU team as a Heritage Programme Officer! The successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract upon satisfactory completion of a 6-month probation period. The expected start date for employment is 15th July 2019.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Heritage Programme Officer will be expected to:
· Develop strategies to contribute to the Foundation’s heritage education agenda
· Provide technical support and participate in capacity building, research, monitoring and evaluating projects relevant to cultural heritage and development
· Mobilize resources for programmes focusing on the promotion and preservation of cultural heritage
· Establish and maintain linkages and collaboration with relevant stakeholders in and outside Uganda to promote and preserve cultural heritage as vital for human development
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate for the Heritage Programme Officer should hold a university degree in Cultural Heritage Studies/ Anthropology / Social Work and Social Administration/Development Studies, or related field
· At least two years’ experience
· Good track record of engagement in heritage development or promotion
· Proficiency in written and verbal English (knowledge of an indigenous language would be an advantage)
· Proficiency in using ICT and social media
