Job Summary: The MTN High Value – Consumer Segment Manager will be responsible for acquisition, driving growth in usage behavior and retention within segment. The job holder will be charged with the development and implementation of segment specific market strategy, promotional plans and market specific events for defined segment that address market needs & commercial requirements. He / she will also ensure that the segment strategy is implemented in alignment with overall business strategy, market needs and requirements. The incumbent will also have a key responsibility of ensuring that MTN remains the no.1 telecommunication brand and among the top 3 brands in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an annual High value segment marketing plan and ensure achievement of MTN Uganda’s business plan objectives.
Conceptualize and implement an end to end communication strategy across all mediums and channels, for the high value segment.
Define key differentiating factors and develop segment value propositions.
Oversee, define and/or influence segment specific value propositions and define the relevant product portfolio for the high value segment to optimize revenue and profitability.
Create new platforms or properties that reinforce the High value segment positioning.
Create and maintain a dynamic and consistent positioning, image presence, including design of promotions and experiential initiatives to drive excitement and focus.
In charge of the planning, supervision and coordination of events including the agency and internal project teams allocated to the events.
Re-evaluation of market strategy as it relates to the market dynamics of the time and the management of the resources and the incumbents disposal to ensure maximum effectiveness of the strategy with regards to the meeting of the requirements of the business plan.
Prepare and update literature for all products and services within the high value segment.
Actively participate in product & service review meetings or cause meetings for a given product/service
Collaborate with sales, customer experience, product development & analysis team, NWG, key stakeholders to align the segment unit goals and objectives.
Keenly analyse trends and highlight areas of the business that may be developed further to support the high value strategy.
Closely cooperate with product and services, devices, pricing, digital, customer retentions and customer service centers for offer creation and execution.
Ensure customer needs and requirements are satisfied through appropriate systems / processes / procedures.
Work closely with other stakeholders to define a clear and precise Go To Market strategy and channel engagement including visibility requirements:
Prepare launch presentations for internal and external use
Work in liaison with agency partners and procurement to ensure development and on time delivery
Develop the commercial argument for the segment using market insights and trends
Briefing of all stakeholders specifically customer experiences, channels and distribution prior to launching to the external market
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should possess a degree/diploma in commerce, marketing or communication or related qualification.
Professional certification in marketing gives an added advantage.
A minimum of five years’ experience in an area of specialization.
Past experience working in a medium to large organization.
Past experience working with a telecom will give an added advantage.
Commercial experience and understanding (ability to deliver commercial value).
Basic appreciation of the total telecom industry and trends.
Working knowledge and understanding of consumer behavior.
Understanding of marketing and market research principles.
Industry licenses or designations are welcome.
