Job Summary: The HR Support Officer will support to the Head of HR to implement BBOXX HR processes in BBOXX Capital Uganda and act as point of contact for staff to raise concerns they would not take to their manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Technically support the Head of HR in implementing the globally agreed salary, bonus, commission and benefits structure for staff and Agents
Support the recruiting process at the hub and shop level, together with the hiring managers
Devise means of improving staff motivation and morale at the hub and shop level. Ensure the staff are happy and motivated.
Become the company’s equal opportunities champion to ensure equal opportunity in recruitment, training and retaining is given to all genders, tribes, etc.
Ensure that staff performance objectives and appraisals are done within the right timelines.
Manage the implementation of health and safety at the hub and shop level.
Oversee HR admin (employee database, signing of contracts, IT permissions, etc).
Actively support in Keeping the HR processes in BBOXX’s Operational Management System up to date
Improve BBOXX HR work stream at the hub and shop levels to generate improved efficiencies, reduce cost or improve data retained in HR management
Support to implement the BBOXX HR policies at the hub and shop level and help bring down our global policies such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption.
Schedule and coordinate recruitment at the hub and shop level, together with relevant line and functional managers
Keep an organised database of candidates and those interviewed
Interview staff where needed at the hub and shop level
Ensure that BBOXX has all necessary employee details (contract details, tax numbers, A/C No., social security and health insurance), and keep the Employee Database up to date at the hub level
Regularly inform Head of HR on payroll information of employees.
Identify training needs for employees the hub and shop level
Follow-up with line managers to ensure employee objectives are set and reviews are done on time and accurately
Implement employee benefits such as health insurance
Send periodic reports to Management on staff development
Support the Head of HR to Implement disciplinary procedures where necessary
Ensure health and safety procedures are trained and followed at the hub and shop level
Maintain an open door for staff to voice concerns that they would not feel comfortable brining to their managers.
Plan team building activities, and ensure that line managers have staff motivation in budgets
Implement employee recognition programs at the hub and shop level by implementing the employee of the month program
Actively coordinate the production and distribution of employee materials (ID badges, uniforms, health and safety equipment, etc).
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The candidate should have at least one year of experience in Human Resource Management at a lower management level
Honest, reliable and trustworthy character (with referees to support)
Keen attention to detail
Impeccable time management
Highly efficient and responsive work ethic
Clean and tidy
Fluent in spoken and written English
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Computer literacy i.e. competent with Microsoft Office
