Information Management – CTG – Kampala

Job Summary:
The Information Management Officer and Operations Support will be based in Kampala but expected to travel to the other three identified high risk countries Rwanda, Burundi & South Sudan based on needs & requirements to enhance the aforementioned humanitarian preparedness efforts in all four countries.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
EVD Preparedness Regional Support – Responsibilities:
The incumbent will, as the focal point for collecting & disseminating logistics information, work in close coordination with all Logistics Coordinators for EVD Preparedness, humanitarian partners & Ministry of Health across the four priority 1 countries & will report to the Project Manager for the Regional Logistics Common Services project. Main duties include:
Gather information on the overall logistics operations, including data on logistics procedures & bottlenecks from the various partners involved in EVD preparedness in priority 1 countries.
Produce IM products / reports in specific formats (UN) or specific formats as required within EVD preparedness. Key products: sitreps, operational overviews, snapshots, briefings, info graphics, fact sheets, etc.
Update contact list for EVD partners for priority 1 countries.
Facilitate access to GIS / mapping tools & products for EVD partners.
Provide RBN inputs about EVD preparedness activities & liaise regularly with other IM Officers in other agencies / NGOs.
Maintain internal information sharing mechanisms, documentation formats, assessment formats, briefing packages for incoming staff, central file store.
Update CONOPs for EVD preparedness for RBN & priority 1 countries.
Produce key logistics information documents & procedures, such as Concept of Operations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for EVD preparedness & ensuring they are regularly revised / updated if required.
Liaise with logistics focal points both in Nairobi & priority 1 countries, to gather information for the production of sitreps, bulletins & other periodic updates, ensuring that challenges & concerns relating to the logistics operation are represented.
Consolidate information for the weekly inputs & produce other internal reports as required.
Support in data management for SRF received & processed through utilization of RITA or other NFIs tracking system.
Perform other tasks as required.
Project reporting
This role reports to the Project Manager for the Regional Logistics Common Services project.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the CTG job should hold a University Degree in Social Sciences, International Relations / Business, Communications, Journalism or related field or the equivalent combination of education & experience.
Previous work experience in humanitarian or logistics related fields are desirable. Previous experience in emergencies is important.
Excellent written & verbal communications skill, good research & analytical skills, ability to meet deadlines & work under pressure as part of a team, good communication skills, excellent written & analytical skills, experience using MS Excel & sound knowledge of MS Windows, MS Word, MS PowerPoint & other related software.
Team management
Languages: Fluency in spoken & written English is required, working knowledge of French is a plus.
