Logistics and Supply Chain Management Officer – Makerere University Joint AIDS Program

About US:
Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP) is a private-not-for profit Company under Makerere University. MJAP works to build partnerships and strengthen health systems to optimally respond to HIV/AIDS, TB and other diseases of public health importance in Africa.

About Project:
MJAP will work in close collaboration with the Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP) to implement a program on Accelerating HIV/AIDS Epidemic Control in Masaka region (Gomba, Butambala, Sembabule and Mpigi districts). In addition, MJAP is anticipating a sub-award grant for accelerating HIV/AIDS Epidemic Control in Kampala region; under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with district medicine supervisors, DLFP and VMMC officers to support providers to forecast and place commodity orders in a timely manner.
Regularly monitor commodity stock levels, storage conditions and recommend improvements in the facilities.
Work closely with the DHO to obtain approval and ensure re-distribution of commodities based on health facility needs.
Support HWs to generate monthly and quarterly commodity reports

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP) Logistics and Supply Chain Management Officer should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
A minimum of two years’ experience in supporting district supply chain management
Previous experience in health worker capacity building through trainings and mentorships is a must.
Prior experience using web-based drug ordering.
Good training and mentorship skills
Self-motivated, able to work under minimum supervision and well organized
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
