Manager, HR Business Partner – MTN-Uganda -Kampala

Job Summary:
The Manager, HR Business Partner (C/Experience Division) will provide People management interventions, support and best practices to assigned areas of the business by playing an integral part towards achieving effective work relationships, influencing the delivery of the relevant Business Units people plans in support of the achievement of the Business Unit, HR and Companywide people strategies and business outcome. Acts as a liaison between HR and the divisions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Implementation of People plan and Agenda in line with the companywide HR and assigned Business Unit strategy.
Enabling and Reporting on the changing needs and the future needs of the assigned Business unit and HR Functional support area to deliver commercially focused HR solutions to add-value.
Coordinate HR practices & objectives that will provide an employee-oriented and high performing superior workforce in assigned function and HR functional area.
Provide pro-active HR services covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Implementation of the various HR services across the HR employee cycle within assigned BU specifically, resourcing, on boarding, separation and off boarding, talent management, performance management, learning & needs analysis, management of informal grievance and providing line support for disciplinary processes. Ensuring the experience at every touch point is value adding.
Put in place initiatives to proactively gain assigned Business Units feedback to enable the HR function improve service levels.
Equip Business units and assigned functional areas with appropriate people management tools and knowledge to effectively manage at the line level e.g. performance management, talent management, career management etc.
Manage people change and support while building change capacity and capability within business unit.
Manage relevant assigned Business Unit headcount, workforce planning and people data.
Assist the Senior Manager-HR Business Development in managing Employee Relations (ER) initiatives, plans and issues within business Unit assigned.
Assist the Senior Manager-HR Business Development in managing Employee wellness initiatives and plans within business Unit assigned.
Assist the Senior Manager-HR Business Development in managing partnerships with HR Resourcing and Recruitment Agencies for business unit assigned
Prepare Monthly reports and other relevant reports requited via line manager and submit these to HR for action.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the MTN Uganda Manager, HR Business Partner (C/Experience Division) job placement should hold a Degree in HR/ Psychology/ Social Science or a related field
Post Graduate Training in HR is an added advantage
Five years of Generalist HR experience/ HR Business Partner experience preferably in a Telecoms environment
Experience working in roles or projects where interaction with Senior leadership is required
Experience of effective influencing and coaching at senior manager level
Experience of managing organizational change
Appreciation of Business Unit/function
Experience of executing HR strategy in line with business needs

Trainings & Knowledge:
Change Management
An up to date understanding of present and future employment legislation
Strong Communication and presentation Skills (verbal and written)
Strong knowledge of the Uganda Labor Laws
Employee Relations Management
Telecommunications industry appreciation.
