Manager Projects, Cultural Change & Benefits Realization – PostBank Uganda Ltd

Job Summary:
The Manager Projects, Cultural Change & Benefits Realization is part of project management, part technology operations and part general management. The role holder will plan, organise, and integrate cross-functional projects that are significant in scope and impact. This role will provide PBU with a way to measure how technology projects add true value to the Bank and is accountable for ensuring implementation of the most valuable initiatives that will achieve intended business results. The core elements of the job are also about organising people and time resources, and seeing the project through from inception to completion. Project managers have ultimate responsibility for meeting the business’s or client’s needs. This role will support structured approach to transitioning individuals, teams, and the bank from a current state to a desired future state, coordinating the process aimed at empowering employees to accept and embrace changes in their current environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Developing schedules and methods for measuring results
Guiding and performing strategic analysis for the project
Organising and managing all phases of the project to ensure on-time completion
Assembling and coordinating project team members; assigning individual responsibilities
Preparing requests for proposals and conducting all necessary meetings to facilitate selection of project services and products
Planning and overseeing the preparation and dissemination of project communications
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals
Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based
on financial analysis
Work closely with business & BT teams on a portfolio of innovation projects and disruptive innovation platforms, to manage the successful integration of innovations into new and existing business models, products, and services to ensure that envisaged benefits are actually realised
Champion the identification, definition, planning, tracking and realization of business benefits
Identify the investment outcomes & define benefit measures for each outcome
Ensure that innovations in the use of Business information systems and technologies meet the core needs of the organization
Plan & Implement the new or changed capabilities necessary to realize the benefits. Plan the investments needed to make the changes necessary to create or change the capabilities
Optimize the plan to reduce waste and have acceptable levels of resource, risk, cost, quality and time
Review the impact of the plan implementation on the Benefit Measures and use insights to improve
Support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans
Any other duties as may be assigned by Senior Management
Financial Responsibility
Responsible for controlling costs to within agreed cultural change & benefits realization budget
Responsible for the cultural change & benefits realization business & financial targets as will be agreed, from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Three to five years of relevant working experience in a project management setting
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Good knowledge and understanding of relevant IT applications
Ability to build relationship across many fronts
Ability to focus and pay attention to details at all times
Ability to work in a team as well as an individual with little or no supervision
The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is deemed essential
Ability to build functioning working relationships across organizational, corporate, and cultural boundaries
Takes clear accountability, and focuses on delivery of corporate goals.
