Mobile VAS Officer – Kampala – Uganda National Examinations Board

Job Summary: The Mobile VAS Officer will provide technical support for the development of mobile platforms for a variety of projects within UNEB including developing the functional and technical specifications of any mobile interventions in the Board.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Build, strengthen and develop working relationships with the telecommunications industry, including identifying potential platforms, approaches, and partnerships for multi-media outputs that meet the Board’s agreed objectives, timelines and budgets
Works closely with content producers and aggregators, mobile network operators, web design and development agencies, web hosting services, technical suppliers and email marketing agencies on all matters related to mobile content of the Board.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The candidates should possess Honours degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Physics and Mathematics.
A minimum of three or more years’ experience in VAS in Mobile Content Provider industry
Possess broad working knowledge and an understanding of working with mobile aggregators and content providers to design and develop Value Added Services using trending technologies such as IVR, SMS and USSD.
Programming languages – a combination of any of the following languages is desirable (Heitml /HTML/PHP /PERU PYTHON)
Practical experience and exposure on mobile VAS platforms
Working knowledge of relational database systems such SQL server and MySQL
Possess the ability to manage the design and development of IVR services will be an added advantage

Age Limit: 25 – 45 years
