Job Summary: The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will provide support in strengthening its monitoring, evaluation and learning system. The incumbent will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance in monitoring and evaluation, learning and quality improvement. The jobholder will be tasked with ensuring that there is regular program data entered in the regional database, verified for completeness and accuracy for reporting and learning.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and guidance to partners in areas of data collection, management, reporting and utilization for program improvement.
The incumbent will also coach, train and mentor partner M&E staff with the aim of strengthening their M&E technical capacity in conjunction with the M&E Specialist.
Work closely with the M&E Specialist to develop the Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning plan and to contribute to the development the results framework for the Unit
Provide support in the documentation of the best practices and facilitate decision making and share lessons for advocacy.
Significantly contribute to the development of the regional database to ensure timely, complete and accurate data is entered.
Send feedback to the partners and program teams on program performance based of monitoring data findings.
Support development and regular update of M&E tools to track and capture performance indicator data.
Work with the M&E Specialist on development and coordination of regional work plans and work plan review reports.
Conduct regular data validation through routine data quality assessments for supported partners
Partner capacity building through support supervision and technical assistance visits and trainings.
Actively participate in regular surveys and research studies to track impact and draw learning.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a good bachelor’s degree preferably in statistics, economics, social sciences or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university.
At least two years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation especially in education and livelihoods programs.
Advanced knowledge and training monitoring and evaluation including strategic frameworks, database management, use of digital software and statistical packages.
Strong research, analytical and writing skills
He/She needs to identify with Christian values
Willingness to frequently travel to the field
