About ECHO Project:
Welthungerhilfe received a grant from ECHO – European Commission for Humanitarian Aid to implement a one year project entitled “Wash Response to South Sudan Refugees In Bidibidi Settlement, Yumbe District.’’
Job Summary: The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will assist the Project Manager and project staff in all data collection, analysis, and learning activities to help ensure accountability and efficiency from start to finish of the project. The incumbent will provide technical field support to the M&E unit within the organization. S/he will work closely with Project team to assess field conditions, support capacity building initiatives, and facilitate the collection of quality data under the supervision of the Project Manager. The jobholder will also collaborate with the Project Management unit as assigned by the Project Manager in reviewing and preparing monthly, quarterly and final narrative reports. The jobholder will work in liaison with other members of the team, as need be, on follow up of project indicators, implementation of processes, standard operating procedures
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and set up a monitoring and evaluation system which meets the requirements of the donor and informs about the performance results in all sectors
Ensure that the impact of all intervention is measurable, enhancing accountability to beneficiaries and gender equality is met
Follow up, advise and adjust monitoring practices based on log frames and monitoring plans in the projects in order to ensure compliance with donor requirements
The incumbent will integrate Welthungerhilfe success indicators in the project log frame and ensure that these are measured during project implementation
Establish and manage a database, assist in data analysis and supervise regular data collection
Actively facilitate learning processes among staff by providing summaries, facilitating discussions and preparing presentations on lessons learnt
Conduct regular project site visits and provide detailed information for narrative reporting and documentation
Offer support in the management in timely and accurate reporting
Significantly contribute to all project planning activities
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Welthungerhilfe (WHH) Monitoring and Evaluation Officer job opportunity should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Information management, Project Management or/and with post graduate diploma in monitoring and evaluation
At least five years of M&E work experience in multi-sectorial rural development projects preferable with international NGOs
Prior exposure and experience in working independently and result oriented
Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Power point, SPSS, Access.
Knowledge and experience both practical and theoretical in data analysis and compilation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent English language skills
Familiarity with the languages spoken in West Nile and Arabic is a strong asset
Excellent interpersonal skills
Possess a clean and valid riding permit
