Job Summary: The M&E Specialist will support be Tetra Tech by being responsible for the monitoring and evaluation function for the USAID/Uganda Feed the Future Ag Inputs Activity project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· The incumbent will provide leadership in designing, implementing, and using M&E data
· Also, he / she will maintain an up to date filing system for all project reports and all M&E data
· Compile and edit data on a quarterly basis to produce quarterly and annual reports for USAID
· Conduct training and guidance for project staff in developing/using annual M&E plans, using data collection tools, and understanding required targets and indicators.
· Manage data, generate periodic progress reports for staff, donors and other stakeholders
· Proactively search for ways to evaluate if the team is achieving its goals at various stages
Qualifications and Experience:
· The ideal candidate should hold a First degree in Statistics; Master’s degree preferred and can demonstrate a strong private sector inclination through their work experience
· At least five years post graduate practice in relevant field
· Proven applied skills and experience in designing, implementation and operating data-intensive research projects or M&E systems from start to finish.
· Working knowledge of key evaluation methodologies and experience in data analysis
· Significant experience in market systems facilitation or M4P (Making Markets Work for the Poor) approaches, and/or in M&E for USAID projects, preferred but not required.

· Data management skills: Excellent skills in data management software, including Excel, and Statistics.
· Business and industry knowledge: detailed knowledge and understanding of business operations processes and have a solid foundation of agribusiness industry knowledge
· Team leader: prior experience in motivating and inspiring others to meet performance goals
· Research: past experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, especially those that deal with understanding consumer or business behavior (e.g. market research)
