Officer Security Surveillance – Uganda Revenue Authority – Kampala

Job Summary:
The Officer Security Surveillance will mainly monitor and control bank of all screens installed in order to maintain a safe and secure environment for URA property, staff and clients at all times

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor screen banks to detect and prevent crime, and protect people
· Sitting in front of a bank of up to 15 screens, constantly monitoring the live pictures that come in from the surveillance cameras
· Operate the positioning of the cameras, for any suspicious movements and behaviour detected.
· Monitor suspicious behaviour, and alert security staff or police in case of any act of theft, vandalism or any other crime
· Monitor cleaning staff working in large empty spaces for their safety
· Register and maintain a log of all incidents and forward reports to the police
· Represent URA in courts of law by giving evidence as a witness.
· Diagnose faulty cameras and possible cause of breakdown
Respond to radio communication to provide real time feedback and updates on security issues at the URA premises
· Immediately pick up relevant signals from the ground security personnel
· Call as soon as an incident is identified
· Register an alert in the communication management register
Manage the operation of the access control system
· Activation of Smart IDS
· Deactivation of inactive staff (Those out of office or on leave)
· Responding to any other security issue as instructed by the team leader

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicants for the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Officer Security Surveillance job opportunities should hold a Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized Institution but preferably IT related.
· Three years of work experience in the area of Security, Intelligence and Investigations in a reputable organization
· Computer skills are a must have from a recognized institution.
· Basic service training is an added advantage
· Specialized training in tax administration
· IT or Computer Science added advantage
· Knowledge of the Penal Code Act
· Knowledge of the Evidence Act & Computer Misuse Act
· Ability to use technical intelligence collection tools such GIS, Drones, Cameras and other intelligence collection tools
· An impeccable record of integrity and confidentiality
· Ability to work well in a team
· Good analytical skills
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work anywhere across the country at the discretion of the team leader.
· Ability to work under pressure and exercise resilience.
