Outreach Representative – Kampala – Numida Technologies

About US:
Numida Technologies is a digital financial services company based in Kampala, Uganda. Our goal is to unlock financing to the 22 million African small businesses who need it. We are building a mobile application called TrackApp that helps entrepreneurs keep track of their finances for the purpose of making evidence-based decisions. In addition, these financial track records are channeled to lending institutions in Uganda who are looking to finance small businesses, and who require real business data about prospective borrowers. We are launching a pilot with 200 small businesses in Kampala in 2016 that will test a core set of TrackApp features with our target user.

Job Summary: The Outreach Representative will work together with other team members to bring a mobile record keeping application called TrackApp to the awareness of 200 small business owners in Uganda. The incumbent will support these businesses owners to integrate TrackApp into their daily management practices. This position will require the Outreach Representatives to relate to entrepreneurs in Uganda of varying ages and literacy levels, and therefore the ability to deeply understand these business owners is critical. The responsibilities of an Outreach Representative will be twofold: 1. to acquire TrackApp users and 2. to collect feedback from these users so that the tech development team may continually make TrackApp more useful, user-friendly, and generally better.

In this position, the Outreach Representatives may find themselves organizing and facilitating training sessions about TrackApp to groups of 30+ entrepreneurs. On other days they may be following up with entrepreneurs over the phone, troubleshooting problems that users have encountered when using TrackApp, or traveling throughout the Greater Kampala area to meet with entrepreneurs in person. While the Outreach Representatives will be working to implement a structured pilot of TrackApp, the ability to suggest new ideas and approaches for promoting TrackApp in the Ugandan context will be highly valued by Numida.
