About EOC:
The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) was established by the Equal Opportunities Act of 2007 and is mandated to provide a framework for redressing imbalances which exist against the marginalized groups while promoting equal opportunities for all.
Job Summary: The Procurement Officer will develop and implement EOC procurement framework and manage the day to day procurements and disposal functions in line with EOC strategic plan, procurement policy and guidelines.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Establishing and maintenance of procurement and disposal of assets system.
· Work closely with all end users and prepare procurement plans.
· Verify and organize all documents related to disposing and procurement of items.
· Prepare bid documents and maintain the custody of all procurement and disposal records.
· Participate in bid evaluation.
· Compile procurement requirements and documentation on time.
· Enter authorized transactions into the Integrated Financial Management System for further processing.
· Guide suppliers on procurement procedures.
· Work with accounts unit to ensure procurement funds are availed in time.
· Compile and submit reports periodically.
· Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· The applicant must hold an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain / Logistics Management from a recognized University/Institution OR Commerce or Business Administration / Studies plus a Postgraduate diploma in procurement and Supply Chain Management OR full professional procurement qualifications like Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or International Supplies Management (ISM).
· A minimum of two years working experience at the level of a Procurement Officer, in Government or equivalent experience from a reputable organization.
· Personal Competencies: Computer Literacy, Procurement Logistics Management, Communication Skills, Ethics and Integrity Management, Confidentiality.
