About US:
The Uganda Free Zones Authority is mandated to establish, develop, manage, market, maintain, supervise, control and to provide for other related matters of Free Zones in Uganda, as outlined in section 13 sub-section 1 to 2 of the Free Zones Act, 2014.
Job Summary: The Procurement Officer will support the Authority’s Procurement Executive in planning and coordinating the procurement and disposal of assets function to ensure value for money.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· The incumbent will coordinate the activities of the Procurement Unit;
· Ensure conformity and adherence to the Government procurement regulations;
· Render support to the functionality of the Contracts Committee;
· Guide staff on procurement procedures/processes;
· Perform any other duties assigned from time to time by the Procurement Executive
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate should preferably hold an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Procurement/Purchasing and Supplies, Transport and Logistics or in a Procurement related field
· Possession of Professional qualification in Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
· A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position in a reputable institution / organisation;
· Excellent communication skills;
· Ability to work in a team;
· Good computer skills;
· Self-motivated and capable to work under tight deadline in a competitive environment
· High degree of integrity.
· Age: Between 25 – 40 years old
