The Forum for African Women Educationalists – Uganda Chapter (FAWEU) was launched in February 1997 as part of a bigger network of 34 National Chapters across Africa with a primary aim of addressing the gender disparities in education that were manifested through low rates of access to education, retention, performance and completion of girls starting from upper primary school through secondary up to higher education levels. FAWE Uganda Chapter has received a three-year funding for a new project that will address Violence against girls and women in and around schools in the districts of Kasese, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko.
Job Summary: The Project Coordinator will oversee the Western Region project interventions in awareness raising on violence against children in and around schools. The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation, planning, budgeting, support supervision, and documentation of good practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Take part in the planning, budgeting, implementation, support supervision, monitoring, and evaluation and reporting processes.
· Offer back up support in terms of follow up of all matters related to the programmes/projects you are responsible for.
· Ensuring project quality delivery through providing technical support to all stakeholders in and around schools in each of the school communities.
· Coordinate and work closely with the already existing government structures and other relevant civil societies.
· Ensure timely submission of quarterly and annual progressive reports.
· Maintain high level of transparency and accountability of all resources
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field preferably Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies, Education, Social Sciences and any other related field.
· The applicants with additional qualification in Project Planning and Management will have an added advantage.
· A minimum of three years with an international or local NGO.
· Strong/good team player.
· Computer literacy skills in Ms Word, Excel and Power Point
· Excellent customer care skills.
· Highly reliable and dependable, and with ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
· Dynamic, proactive, multitasking, and result-oriented.
· Excellent report writing and presentation skills
