Welthungerhilfe (WHH), founded in 1962, is today one of the biggest non-governmental aid and development agencies in Germany. We campaign against worldwide hunger and for sustainable food and nutrition security by promoting site-appropriate farming, establishing access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene, improving healthcare and education for people living in rural areas.

Job Summary: The Project Manager WASH will support Welthungerhilfe through planning, developing, monitoring and evaluating the assigned WASH projects in Moroto and Namalu. The incumbent will effectively manage and report on projects in line with the objectives, timeframe and budget. He / she will also offer technical support, leadership and strategic direction. The incumbent will be required to ensure quality standards in WASH delivery, encourage beneficiary participation, liaise with other stakeholders and manage and train WASH staff. The job holder will also assess WASH needs, design projects, write proposals and contribute effectively to future programing development.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Project Manager WASH vacancy should hold a Higher level qualification in a technical field, preferably in water and sanitation i.e. a BSc / MSc in Water / Environmental Engineering or Management or Civil Engineering or Hydrology / Geology
Strong project management capacity in a WASH context (Planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling);
At least five years’ experience in WASH project implementation, preferable with international organizations
Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills;
Fluency in spoken and written English
Capacity to multi task and coordinate activities und pressure in rural remote areas.
