Regional Manager – UGAFODE Microfinance Limited

Job Summary:
The Regional Manager will be responsible for the administration and efficient operation of full service branches within his/her assigned region, including operations and all other aspects of the regional office’s loan delivery, customer service, processes and procedures, plans and steering a high growth portfolio (loans and savings) in accordance with regulatory and other UGAFODE policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Development and implementation of regional strategic plan: Develops/reviews annual budgets and work plans in liaison with branch managers and other stakeholders as well as; ensuring adequate staffing to manage the strategic and operational objectives of the regional office and the institution at large in compliance with set policies & procedures at all times.
· Embed Portfolio quality management in regional branches: Plan and monitor portfolio growth in the branches, monitors the regional office performance and growth of clientele base and business volume of the regional office.
· Responsiveness to Customer needs: Provides leadership in identification, assessment, monitoring and overall management of customer concerns so as to promote Customer needs and potential improvement in product quality, ensure customer satisfaction and retention through the use of standard customer care survey tools.
· Administrative roles with regard to operational activities: Ensures oversight to operational efficiency by making reviews of the company policies and procedures with recommendations to management. Administers staff meetings, discipline and enforces compliance to UGAFODE set standards and procedures at all times.
· Regional performance Reporting: Analyses, compiles and provides required reports and analysis to management as per the most recent update of reporting requirements. Such reports may include Quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily reports and as may be required.
· Credit Approvals: Responsible for appraising, approval and or refer of all branch loans that are above 5M in accordance with UGAFODE credit policies and procedures.
· Sales plans: Prepares and coordinates sales strategy to drive growth within the region by assessing local market conditions and identifying current and prospective sales opportunities as well as acting as functional liaison for operational activities between branch Sales and all operational support departments.
· Regional Branch Audits: Conducts periodic branch operational audits to ensure adherence to policy and procedures, ensuring that acceptable audit results and adherence to branch and regulatory procedures audits at all times.
· Team supervision: Takes full responsibility for guiding of all direct reports, focusing on all aspects of sound people management e.g. Coaching, On-the-job training, Development, Performance Management, compliance to set standards and Employee engagement.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant for the UGAFODE Microfinance Limited Regional Manager job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Accounting (B.Com), business administration (B.BA/Banking), or related discipline.
· At least five years of work experience in a recognized micro finance institution or commercial bank, with at least one year’s experience at Branch Manager Level, or other acceptable supervisory capacity such as Credit Supervisor, or Accountant.
· A sound knowledge of micro finance, principles, and practices of banking.
· Extensive and in-depth knowledge of Branch management/Operations in a Banking environment
· Knowledge of the full MS Office suite.
