Job Summary: The Senior Officer will plan and ensure quality and timely implementation of the Save the Children Early Childhood Care & Development (ECCD) project within the designated districts and sub-counties. The incumbent will be expected to implement the project in a manner that promotes integrated programming with other core programs of ABEK, FACT, REAL FATHERS and SAGE Projects and cross cutting themes such as gender, disability, child Protection and rights programming. The incumbent will primarily implement the ECCD project in manner that fosters networking and collaboration with districts and Sub county stakeholders (i.e. Community Development Officer, Centre Coordinating Tutors), local capacity strengthening (i.e. ECCD District coordinators, Centre Management Committees, VAC), meaningful active participation of children, accountability (internal and external to Save the Children). The post holder may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate for the Save the Children Senior Officer, Early Childhood Care & Development (ECCD) job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related humanity discipline. Additional or post graduate qualification in Early Childhood Care and Development, and Basic Education is an added advantage
· A minimum of three years of progressive working experience in planning and implementing Education programmes with INGOs, two years of teaching experience in primary schools.
· Past exposure and experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added advantage.
· Excellent analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
· Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
· Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
· Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
· Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
· Excellent time management and planning capacity.
· Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
· Experience and knowledge of working in Karamoja and ability to speak the local language Ngakarimojong fluently is a strong requirement.
· Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
