Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point procedures and regulations are adhered to and implemented by all shop dealers and suppliers.
Disseminates information and ensures compliance with hygiene management methods for shops.
Develops product categories in terms of range optimisation, turnover, margins and planograms.
Formulate strategies to improve the overall shop performance.
Negotiates supply contracts with third parties for centralised supply, rebates, competitive pricing, and marketing support and ensures contract terms are respected.
Manages relationships with shop suppliers, holds regular business review meetings, and supports implementation of the required remedial measures.
Participates in identification, selection and carries out performance management of shop dealers.
Conducts market intelligence.
Mentors and trains Field Merchandisers and Retail Territory Executives in the merchandising standards and planograms.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicants for the TOTAL Shop Category Officer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration degree or related field.
Three years of working experience in Sales and Marketing related field, two of which should involve management of business partners.
Previous experience in retail operations or FMCG will be an added advantage.
Computer literacy skills
Hold a clean and valid Driver’s Licence.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
Highly innovative.
Must be flexible and quick to adapt.
Must have a high level of integrity.
Must have good analytical, communication and report writing skills.
