Site Services and Security Team lead – Infectious Diseases Institute

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration, Strategy & Planning
Assist the Operations Manager on a daily basis in safety and security risk management programs
Engage all staff at all levels in the various departments to facilitate the adoption and compliance with the IDI Safety and Security Policy and Standards
Communicate regularly with IDI staff to gather feedback; provide guidance, advice and support; help formulate strategies to improve head office and regional Offices safety and security management
Report regularly to Manager Operations highlighting activities and Regional priorities
Maintain Safety and Security Focal Person (SSEP) and law enforcement contacts
Manage IDI Safety and Security Operational Reports, Incidents Reports, Investigations Reports, Risk Assessment Reports and Situation Reports (Sitreps).
Provide technical input to proposal development and make recommendations for appropriate safety and security budgets.
Regional Offices Technical Support:
Review Regional Offices safety and security management plans (SSMP), Crisis / Incident Management Plans and make recommendations for improvement based on established standards,
Check that security implementation into programs/projects is relevant and support the regional administrators to:
Review quarterly security work plans updates
Provide feedback to field staff in response to security-related inquiries
Provide technical input, material support and training to build safety/security capacity
Monitor events in assigned regions and review incident report submissions for accuracy and follow-up Capacity Building and Technical Training:
Provide security briefings/debriefings to travelers most especially international visitors and service providers; participate in orientation of new staff.
Deliver and/or support the delivery of crisis management/ incident management training for senior management teams
Design and deliver training to improve the skills and capacities of regional safety and security focal persons
Design and deliver safety and security training for staff as it applies to their respective positions as per IDI Safety and Security Policy and Standards.
Threat Analysis & Crisis incident Management:
Ensure security management in emergency response procedures are appropriately implemented
Deploy to the site of the emergency to establish safety and security
procedures and develop local security management capacity
Provide back-up support to security staff deployed to emergency response sites
Networking and External Liaison/Engagement:
Working closely with the outsourced security service providers to deliver on team objectives including any other duties already prescribed.
Liaise regularly with the regional security stakeholders/ representatives
Develop useful networks at the regional level and head office
Act as the liaison for Dl in police investigations Reporting and Documentation
Provide a regular security report to the Operations manager and deputy/head of finance and administration
Conduct performance reviews of the field-based security focal persons and internal guards.
Collect, analyze and disseminate security information appropriately.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant for the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) Site Services and Security Team lead job should hold a Bachelor’s degree preferably in social sciences, criminal justice, security management or any relevant field
A minimum of five years of work experience in security management 2 of which should be under NGO setting
Good skills in risk assessments and mitigation planning
Experience in incident and emergency management
Skilled and experienced in security training and awareness
Ability to develop, interpret and implement policies and SOPS
Able to manage large team of personnel professionally.
