Site Supervisor / Foreman / Project Manager – Kampala – Raptis Construction Limited

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site/Project Manager/Site supervisor/ Foreman to join one of Raptis Multinational most regarded building contractors. We are looking for a natural leader that has exceptional presentation and liaison skills as you will often be representing the company to clients. This is going to be an autonomous role but you will also be offered training and guidance as to the company procedures and processes. This position is mainly for International applicants as successful employee will be responsible for the supervision of projects, construction, buildings, Roads and RMS projects. Working within the new build luxury apartment and high spec residential fit-out and refurbishment sectors, this role will be responsible for directing and monitoring sub-contractors, coordinating site personnel and for the management of all on site logistics. Key Skills & Requirement:
* Trade Certificate / Building & Construction / Civil Certificate
* Related industry tertiary qualification (Civil/Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering)
* Proven experience in the earth moving /detailed excavation in the civil construction industry (at least 5 years experience in supervisory role)
* Proven experience managing sub-contractors to ensure delivery of projects within specified timelines
* Ability to read and interpret construction plans
* Minimum 3 years experience working on multi storey concrete buildings
* Team player who can lead by example
* Proven people management skills with the ability to motivate and drive teams
* Possess a solid work history with long tenure in roles
* Experience in MS Project would be highly regarded but not essential
* In this position you must have excellent time management skills, be self-disciplined and have a collaborative attitude, paired with a strong team orientation.
* Ability to provide superior contract management and administration
* Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills
* Proven contractual and commercial acumen with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ethical
* Experience in supporting Project Managers and working directly with Clients
* Ability to provide advice and support for complex stakeholder management
* Experience with various contract formats (lump sum, Construction management, schedule of rates)
* Highly effective in planning, organizing and problem solving skills
* Highly effective communication and conflict resolution skills
* Quality, WHS and Environmental Management experience
* Computer literacy using Microsoft Packages including Excel & Word
* Solid and considerable contract administration experience
* Experience working on large, complex Construction projects

Duties and Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of construction programmes and oversees / coordinates daily works
* Direction and monitoring of sub-contractors, suppliers and plant hirers
* Prepare and action defects report
* Maintain daily record of site activities
* Ensuring all work is carried out efficiently and to a high quality standard
* Liaise with client and Project Manager to ensure construction programme is adhered to
* Adhering to systems and procedures for effective contract administration
* Monthly progress reporting and liaising with Project Managers & Company Directors on status of projects
* Management of fully documented lump sum contracts
* Facilitating activities during the contract price formation phase, culminating in the finalization and award of a main contract
* Management of and responsibility for the Contract relationship
* Carry out Post Award contract administration including claims negotiations and management and cost reporting
* Provide expertise to project teams in management and administration of contracts
* Monitor and manage the implementation of all project activities of contractors, consultants and internal Service Providers in relation to progress, cash flow and work quality to ensure they are completed to required standards, within programme and within budget constraints.
* Attend site meetings and undertake general contractor liaison on contract matters
* Advanced Microsoft skills are essential and Primavera skills will be highly regarded.
