About Saferworld Sudan:
Saferworld has been working on conflict and security issues related to Sudan since 2008. Our growing programme focuses on capacity-building for partners working for conflict transformation in Sudan, as well as policy analysis and advocacy.

Job Summary: The Project Coordinator will significantly contribute to the implementation of Saferworld’s Sudan programme, conducting tasks such as advocacy, research, capacity-building, project development, and engagement with partners. This post will focus particularly on our support to young people in Sudan who are engaged in peacebuilding and conflict transformation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Focusing on youth issues, lead in networking with partners, identifying opportunities for collaboration and development of new project ideas, including project proposals and fundraising.
Take lead in project management and support to partners, including in project implementation, financial management and reporting, and monitoring, evaluation and learning.
Build and strengthen effective relationships with potential partners and stakeholders and with relevant Saferworld staff, regionally, globally, an in London.
Actively contribute to the development of the overall strategy for Saferworld’s Sudan programme.
Ensure rigorous monitoring, evaluation and learning systems across the implementation of the programme.
Ensure quality implementation of projects.
Ensure compliance with Saferworld’s standard operating procedures and donor guidelines and protocols.
Update the risk matrix and ensure mitigation measures are in place.
Actively contribute to developing options for further fundraising and reporting to existing funders.
Perform any other duties as advised by the direct line manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Saferworld Project Coordinator vacancy should hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject, or a first degree with additional relevant professional experience
A minimum of three years’ experience in non-profit project implementation, preferably in Sudan
Previous experience of working on conflict and/or peace-building issues
Demonstrated ability to network and establish collaborative relationships with a variety of actors
Demonstrated experience in project management, including financial management and donor reporting
Good contextual knowledge of Sudan
Excellent communication and writing skills in English
Ability to work in a team and also independently.
Willingness and ability to travel in the region
Prior experience of working with cultural groups and youth groups in capacity-building programmes is desired
Broad knowledge and understanding of conflict-sensitive theory and tools is an added advantage
Previous experience of partner capacity-building is desired
Fluency in the Arabic language is an added advantage
