Technical Logistics Officer – Kampala – SolarNow

About SolarNow:
SolarNow is an asset financing company that sells high quality solar product and appliances to households and businesses in Uganda. The company started in 2011 and has since opened 46 branches throughout Uganda, employs around 600 people.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect, test, and sample materials or assembled parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications.
Boost charge batteries before Dispatch.
Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
Establish reports on logistics movements and distribution in the organisation.
Identify, mobilise resources, implement and report on special logistics operations.
Ensure that accurate and complete internal control processes and procedures are followed and all relevant records are maintained.
Ensure effective stock management and quality control.
Manage the safety and security of a stock in the warehouse. This might include locking the warehouse, handling emergency situations, patrolling warehouse areas and preparing reports.
Warehouse maintenance i.e. ensure the proper management of the warehouse.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the SolarNow Technical Logistics Officer should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Professional courses like CIPS are an added advantage.
A minimum of six months experience doing installations OR service.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
Strong technical and mechanical Skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, customer service and communication skills.
Good team player with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Excellent computer skills especially Excel, Word and Power Point.
