Eskom Uganda Limited is a subsidiary company of Eskom Enterprises based in South Africa. Our business is operating and maintaining Nalubaale and Kiira hydroelectric Power Stations. Their mission is to be the “Centre of Excellence in Power Concession Management.”
Job Summary: The Technical Manager will manage all necessary repairs, maintenance and modifications required for future improvement and enhancement of the life of plant for Kira & Nalubaale Power stations
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure availability and up to date plant life cycle plan for each system
Tasked with the execution of approved modification as per the business plan
Ensure all engineering designs changes and modification follow through the prescribed approval process
Prepare and submit regular plant health reports
Consolidate the departmental maintenance plans for submission to stakeholders
Ensure plant performance as per the agreed upon targets while adhering to maintenance best practices
Provide support in ensuring that a adequate spares and consumables are available to perform the necessary maintenance
Ensuring adherence to the lifesaving rules and other health and safety rules while execution of maintenance activities
Development of technical department plans
Develop and implement the training plans for engineers and technicians
Performance Management of the department staff through periodic reviews
Develop mechanisms for addressing identified stakeholder needs, and generate reports as required in compliance to the Civil Aviation Authority, Power Purchase Agreement and Grid Code
Prepare reports as required by stakeholders in compliance to the Civil Aviation Authority, Power Purchase Agreement and Grid Code.
Co-ordinate proper documentation, communication and approval of modifications with Asset Owner in compliance to the Civil Aviation Authority, Power Purchase Agreement and Grid Code.
Prepare reports to Uganda Electrical Generation Company Limited, Electricity Regulatory Authority, Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited, UMEME, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development as and when required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical)
Registered Engineer is a must
At least eight years of relevant working experience with three years in a supervisory position
