Tour Consultant / Reservations Manager – Prime Uganda Safaris & Tours Ltd

About Prime Uganda Safaris:
Prime Uganda Safaris & Tours Ltd is an indigenous East African Ugandan tour operator organizing safaris & tours in Uganda & Rwanda, fully registered and licensed in Kampala Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose the clients’ specifications and wishes and suggest suitable travel packages or services
Organize travels from beginning to end, through booking tickets and accommodation, securing rental transportation etc.
Supply travelers with pertinent information and useful travel/holiday material (guides, maps, event programs etc)
Use promotional techniques and prepare promotional materials to sell itinerary tour packages.
Handle unforeseen problems and complaints and determine eligibility for money returns
Attend conferences to maintain familiarity with tourism trends
Create and update electronic records of clients
Reach the revenue and profit targets
Available, able to respond to any call / email any time of the day /night
Secure and reserve client’s safari accommodation following the confirmed safari program
Take responsibility of securing visitors relevant trekking permits in relevant parks following their confirmed program
Book and reserve in advance all tour activities as per the program confirmed
Populate the safari departure sheet with tour programs and respective safari days
Contact safari lodges and hotels for room rates and activity rates for use in safari quotation for a given period
Research and file relevant information to the reservations department
Ensure clients file upon confirmation is all set and ready before safari departure
Ensure custody of relevant permits and other paper works that require advance bookings including their flight tickets
Have an effective communication link with service suppliers i.e. hotels, safari lodges, car hire companies, etc

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant for the Tour Consultant/Reservations Manager job placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism/Travel related course
A minimum of two years’ experience in a Tour company or travel agency
Energy and patience;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when dealing with Guest
Good organizational skills
Excellent computer skills
Broad knowledge about Uganda as a holiday destination
