Training Officer – Kampala – National Organic Agricultural Movement of Uganda

About US:
The National Organic Agricultural Movement of Uganda (NOGAMU) is the membership apex organization that unites the producers, processors, exporter, NGOs and Business Support organizations involved in the Organic Sector in Uganda. NOGAMU is responsible for promotion of Organic Agriculture in Uganda under the areas of: Market development, Training, Research& Extension, Standards and Certification and Advocacy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· The incumbent will plan, supervise and manage all training programmes organized by NOGAMU
· Develop new training materials and programmes
· Identify relevant resource persons/facilitators to conduct and implement training programs
· Conduct training needs assessment along the entire organic value chain especially with regard to organic production and marketing
· Work closely with other local and international organizations in the development of organic training materials/programmes
· Develop and partner with the various research and academic institutions with and outside Uganda to undertake research into various issues pertaining to organic agriculture

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate for the Training Officer placement should hold a bachelors’ degree in Agriculture or Education
· A minimum of two years’ experience in a related field with knowledge and experience in working with resource poor smallholder farmers.
