Job Summary: The VSLA Product /Relationship Manager-SIF project will be responsible for;
Group Penetration-Proactively increase Village Saving and Lending Association (VSLA)acquisition both on Current Account Saving Account and lending over and above the phase II targets of 1489 CASA and 125 overdrafts
Continuously engage all key stakeholders and deliver on the digital commitments (e-Keys & Ledger Link)for phase II
Ledger Link uptake-80% of all linked groups
E-Keys uptake-80% of all linked groups
Branch Penetration-Improve the number of branches currently handling the Village Saving and Lending Association (VSLA) segment from 5-10 branches by close of 2016
Ensure 100% retention of the VSLA portfolio through a robust strategy in order to minimise attrition
Recruit and manage the Lead generators in charge of VSLA acquisition

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Business Growth and Retention (50%)
Build close working relationships with other internal teams, external key business influencers to create new business opportunities.
Actively participate in transforming communities to be self sufficient, generate their own social economic livelihoods by effectively taping synergies of several partners and stakeholders, and be self –reliant
Fully understand the methodology & workings of Village Savings & Loan Associations
Actively engage key internal and external stakeholders managers towards the achievement of business objectives.
Make sound commercial judgments in order to fully develop customer base.
Build and strengthen new relationship with customers to improve the business income.
Develop a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of groups livelihoods
Provide evidence of customer demand to influence new products / enhancements / solutions
Apply knowledge and skills in resolving any challenges the sales people may face while looking for the new business.
Constantly update knowledge on VSLA products and services across the business through periodic staff trainings
2. Supervision of sales activities (30%)
In charge of the identification of sale opportunities and introduction of leads to the LG team.
Manage daily attendance levels within the team in compliance with the relevant HR policies, including management and approval of leave within the team
Serve as an enabler to the LG team under supervision by providing them with the tools and information to optimize sales.
Actively monitor sales performance on a daily. Weekly and monthly basis and provide results to Retail Director & Head of products.
Acts as an escalation point for queries that could not be resolved by the LG.
3. Planning and Execution (20%)
Responsible for developing sales plan to achieve targeted objectives and goals.
Time management of day to day activities to maximise return on resources.
Keeping fully updated on customer activities, challenges and demands in line with business demands.
Make Presentations about the VSLA product.
Manage the end to end governance processes for the VSLA product

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Development studies
Three or more years’ experience in the VSLA methodology with a proven track record of achievement and high performance
The incumbent should have broad and detailed knowledge of VSLA products and services
Working knowledge of VSLA segment dynamics and methodologies
In-depth knowledge of competitor solutions.
Fully aware of industry trends.
Working knowledge of the VSLA models and methodology, their workings, key needs and challenges is preferred
Working knowledge of Barclays Group and Citizenship investment strategies.
Working knowledge and practical understanding of Law legislation and regulations as they apply to the local market.
Proven success rate in negotiation in a corporate environment
Proven experience in supporting and managing key implementing partners and related key stakeholders
