Workshop Manager – Tata Uganda Limited

Job Summary:
The Workshop Manager is a senior member of the management team reporting to the Alter Sales Manager. He/she shall be responsible for the functionality of the Workshop. .

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Effectively manage workshop team to achieve saleable man hour and achieve profitability as budgeted in the Annual Business Plan.
· Effectively manage workshop parameter to improve CSI.
· Reduce repeat Complaints by direct guidance and close supervision on technicians on the job assigned.
· Manage working capital in conjunction with the Finance Manager: control inventory and debtors.
· Develop TUL Service Network across the country to improve revenue tor sustainability.
· Institute mechanisms to improve on same day delivery in the workshop.
· Improve vehicle throughput per bay per day/ improve Bay Utilization.
· Ensure timely and quality reporting through the INCADEA System.
· Improve workshop performance through effective reporting and communication.
· Maintain Stock of tools & equipment to improve work quality.
· Prepare quality management and technical workshop report.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Auto Engineering or related field or relevant field.
· Seven or more years of hands-on experience in a busy workshop.
· Requisite Strong service experience on technical knowledge & diagnostics skills for repair & maintenance of Commercial Vehicles, including Heavy Trucks
· Aggregates with adequate exposure on service marketing, Building and Selling AMC’s and Key Accounts Management.
· Willing, creative and innovative Comprehensive understanding of Auto Industry business.
· Strong communication and negotiation skills. Customer focused and team player. Proof of previous sales success.
· Heavy duty driving experience a plus and essential for the role.
