About Us:
The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.
Job Summary: The Capacity Building Advisor will provide site support including mentorship and supervision, Capacity building and Quality assurance for provision of TB/HIV services across all facilities including PFP and PNFP. He/she will be in charge of ensuring that all data related to TB/HIV services provision is complete, accurate and collected as required. He/ she will also serve as the link between the field teams, RHITES-North Acholi and other relevant health service delivery stakeholders like MoH/CDC.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant must hold a relevant degree in a medical field (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy etc.) from a recognized institution.
Post-graduate degree/qualification in Medicine, Public Health or infectious Diseases would be an added advantage
Seven or more years of experience in the field of health care provider training in resource limited settings.
S/he should have demonstrated experience in the delivery of health education programs in the field of Malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, MNCH, Reproductive Health, Family Planning, Water and Sanitation.
Experience and training in Malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, MNCH, Reproductive Health, Family Planning, Water and Sanitation.
Experience in the mentoring and supervision of teams and individuals especially in the areas of Malaria, TB, HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, MNCH, Reproductive Health, Family Planning, Water and Sanitation.
Experience in the review of scientific literature and evidence-based practice.
Registration with the appropriate regulatory authority in Uganda, mandatory
