Job Summary: The Nurse Vaccinator will primarily be responsible for participating in the vaccination program. The incumbent will ensure there is an adequate supply of vaccines each day prior to program. The jobholder will also work with the community to ensure maximum possible impact and integration of the project activities. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Save the Children Nurse Vaccinator job placement should possess a Secondary school certificate and certificate for participation in EPI course from a recognized institution.
Relevant experience.
Familiarity with national vaccine schedule and cold chain guidelines.
Fluency in English (both spoken and written).
Broad knowledge and understanding of community, culture and customs and humanitarian context.
Excellent communication skills including clear style of giving instructions
Excellent interpersonal and counselling skills.
Able to effective engage with the local community, including children.
Ability to keep accurate records.
Able to establish good working relationships and positively contribute to a team.
Able to work with limited supervision, improvise and take initiative in the face of unexpected challenges.
Able to plan and complete tasks within a specified timeframe.
Highly flexible and positive approach to work.
Willingness to stay at different base and field locations depending on the needs of the program.
Willing and able to undergo training.
Concern for the wellbeing of children and interest in Child Rights.
Past exposure and experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added advantage.
Excellent analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
Excellent time management and planning capacity.
Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
