Straight Talk Foundation is an indigenous health communications NGO operating nationally in Uganda through the provision of quality behaviour change programs. Straight Talk Foundation (STF) is a Ugandan health communication NGO registered in 1997.
Job Summary: The Nurse will provide clinical and reproductive health services to clients in accordance with STF and Ministry of Health policies and guidelines, and ensure proper management of client records.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide treatment to clients in accordance with STF guidelines as well as Ministry of Health policies and guidelines
Actively monitor, store and dispense medical supplies and drugs
Conduct home visits on HCT and family planning
Provide family planning sensitization, counseling and services at both static and outreach in accordance with MoH guidelines
Produce and send timely clinical reports on a regular basis
Actively participate in partners’ meetings
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should hold diplomas in comprehensive nursing or double training in nursing and midwifery (registration certificate)
Two or more years’ experience in a busy clinical environment especially in area of HIV&AIDS.
Working knowledge of Clinical processes and procedures as specified by MoH and WHO policies, standards and guidelines
Approaches and techniques for mobilization, sensitization and working with communities
Sexuality and reproductive health including longer term family planning
Attained skills in training approaches for children, youth and adults
HIV prevention knowledge
Approaches and techniques for guidance and counseling (especially HIV counseling)
