Job Summary: The Senior Officer, Community Health (Korea Innovative Maternal and Child Health Initiative KIMCHI) will be responsible for planning and ensuring quality and timely delivery of community based services of the MNCH program; including leading and coordination in collaboration with the District Health Team Leadership-mapping and training of VHTs in ICCM and community newborn care; integrated outreach mobile outreach MNCH clinics; child health days ; support supervision and mentorship of VHTs; and accurate documentation and reporting of community based activities The Senior Officer may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis and to coordinate district level activities on behalf of the MNCH Program Manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate for the Save the Children Senior Officer, Community Health career opportunity should hold a bachelor’s degree in a health related subject or higher diploma in either midwifery, nursing or clinical officer.
· Possession of a postgraduate training in either public health, or health systems strengthening, or community health, or reproductive Health and Gender, is an added advantage
· At least three years’ experience in MNCH related program. Experience of working with District Local Government on MNCH programs with a focus on improving service delivery at the community level is of added advantage.
· Skills and experience in training and mentorship of Village Health Teams needed.
· Willingness to work in Ntoroko District
· Previous experience of working with local partners and training as a Master trainer in either ICCM, Community newborn care and family planning delivery.
· Knowledge of local languages in Ntoroko district.
· Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
· Past exposure and experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added advantage.
· Excellent analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
· Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
· Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
· Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
· Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
· Excellent time management and planning capacity.
· Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
· Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
