About STF:
Straight Talk Foundation (STF) is an indigenous communication NGO operating nationally in Uganda by working through print, radio and face to face communication. Its programs and interventions target adolescents as its primary audience, while parents, teachers and caregivers are its secondary audience. STF also addresses Climate change, Environmental protection and Livelihoods development.
Job Summary: The Director of Programs will provide strategic technical oversight to STF programs. The incumbent will directly support the Executive Director (ED) in providing leadership and technical oversight to planning, coordination and management of STF programs in line with STF strategic priorities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide overall technical and managerial leadership in the design, development, planning/ budgeting and implementation of STF programs.
Provide leadership and support to program/project managers by offering guidance and support.
Directly supervise staff to ensure that STF interventions reflect high technical quality standards and are evidence based.
Manage the operational and technical functions of STF regional offices to ensure efficient and effective performance.
Represent STF at various national level coordination fora through networking relationships with government, development partners and CSOs.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Develop improvement plans to ensure project delivery on schedule and within approved budgets
Work closely with staff to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and donor expectations.
Technically support the ED in building partnerships vital for the success of STF and act as the program’s principle spokesperson
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The ideal job holder should possess a Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related discipline.
The Director of Programs should have seven (7) plus years of program management experience in HIV, SRH
The ideal candidate should have the ability to multi-task, have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
