About Us:
Epicentre is an International Non-Governmental Organization created by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in 1987 to help improve the quality of its field interventions. Since 1996, Epicentre has been a World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating centre for research in epidemiology and response to emerging diseases. Epicentre’s work hinges around three main activity areas: clinical research, field epidemiology and training.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordinate the general management of the project and of the studies on site, following the procedures, described in the study protocols and the SOPs.
· Take part in the process of obtaining study approvals from the local Regulatory Authorities and Ethics Committee bodies.
· Participate in development and preparation of SOPs and planning of the project from inception to execution.
· Ensure good assessment of the eligibility of the patients (respect of the inclusion and exclusion criteria) and of the informed consent
· Provide clinical consultations to the patients, included in the study cohort, in collaboration with the MoH medical team and ensure coordination and follow up of the patient’s care.
· Write a clear research report documenting the full methods and results and drawing appropriate conclusions supported by the results. Where appropriate, participate in writing scientific papers.
· Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The incumbent must be a Medical doctor with a Degree (or masters) in Epidemiology or Public Health
· Desirable field experience with MSF or other NGOs, research experience is a plus
· Working knowledge of Epi-Info, Stata, SPSS or analytical package is a plus.
· Personal Competences: Teamwork, Flexibility, Commitment, Stress Management, to abide by the Epicentre Staff regulations and to maintain confidentiality of all the information under her custody.
