About USAID SUSTAIN Project:
University Research Co., LLC (URC), a US-based public health organization working in Uganda since 2005, is implementing the USAID-funded Strengthening Uganda’s Systems for Treating AIDS Nationally (SUSTAIN) project. The USAID SUSTAIN Project ending December 2016 supports delivery of quality HIV prevention, treatment, care and laboratory services at selected regional referral and general hospitals.

Job Summary: The Interns will support the USAID/SUSTAIN Project supported hospitals across Uganda as they grow their careers in biostatistics, Monitoring and Evaluation and data management. The interns will work closely with their mentors and SUSTAIN M&E specialists and during their internship, the objective is to: develop new talents in data management, M&E and biostatistics from the pool of brilliant young graduates that are fresh from the university, have no experience but are highly motivated and have a passion for these three fields. This will enhance the aim of building local capacity and shaping the future’s manpower especially in areas of; planning, programming, biostatistics, M&E, data management, data quality assurance, data analysis, reporting, and presentation of results through these young graduates interested in developing their career in these three fields where they will be trained, mentored and groomed for the same.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicants for the Internship jobs should be Ugandan graduates who at least hold a second class upper Honors degree in the following; Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Demography, Economics and Econometrics.
Excellent computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and have practical ability to use at least one statistical analysis software).
