Project Coordinator – Action for Community Development – Kampala

About US:
Action for Community Development (ACODEV) is a national NGO that has been implementing program in Uganda for 11 years now. ACODEV has received funding from Save the Children International (with support from the Dutch Government) to continue implementing the Keep It Real (KIR) project in all divisions of Kampala Capital City Authority this 2015. The project which is a Sexuality Education project aims at providing boys and girls with age appropriate, culturally relevant and scientifically accurate information. The ultimate goal of the project is to contribute to reduced unintended and early pregnancy, child marriage, contributing to HIV prevention, improved health, and helping young people to complete school, and contribute to a productive and empowered younger generation. The project will work s with in-school going young people in 100 primary and secondary schools and 20 out of schools youth groups

Job Summary: The Project Coordinator will provide overall project management and lead on all project actions under the KIR in all KCCA divisions. The incumbent will and the entire project team to support project implementation at all levels and as per plan and be responsible for project reporting to divisions, KCCA stakeholders and the development partners. He /s he will support data quality of all project data from officers and ensure compliance to child safeguarding policies and other development partner policies during project implementation. The applicant should technically support project M&E, project visibility and continuous resource mobilisation to ensure program development and sustainability.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, SWSA, Nursing, Public health with relevant field experience. Possession of a Masters Degree in relevant field or its equivalent is an added advantage.
Six or more years’ experience of NGO project management in relevant field in Uganda.
Working knowledge of the Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Policies and the dynamics of young people health issues in Uganda is key.
Working knowledge of Save the Children International operational standards including the Child Safeguard policies is important.
