Umeme operates under a concession with a structural monopoly in the distribution of electricity across Uganda, distributing 99% of electricity in Uganda through a single buyer model.
Job Summary: The Security Manager will be in charge of planning, implementing and coordinating security operations, coordinate investigations on all suspected offenses within the company, our customers and provide information, advice and guidance to management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement security plans and systems to secure all people on company premises and property.
Conduct investigations into offences contravening the local laws prejudicial to company Policy committed by staff or non-staff, initiate prosecution process.
Review investigation reports and prepare submissions to management with supporting recommendations concerning assessments and penalties.
Conduct security risk assessment for entire business and design corresponding mitigation measures.
Provide technical advice on requirements and specifications for strengthening existing and new building security systems.
Supervise all the hired security personnel to ensure compliance with all security procedures in place and maintain a high standard of physical security.
Manage the performance and development of line staff
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in social science or any other associated discipline from a recognized university
Additional training in Security services provision and investigations is a must.
At least four years’ experience in Security Services management.
Advanced analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills
Broad knowledge and understanding of Ugandan penal code is added advantage
